Our products
Which products are in the Vitlac range?
The range has seven formulas: Vitlac 1 (infant formula, 0–6 months), Vitlac 2 (follow-on formula, 6–12 months), Vitlac 3 (growing-up milk, 1–3 years), Vitlac AR (anti-regurgitation formula), Vitlac LF (lactose-free infant formula) and Vitlac Happy Nights 1 and 2 (night-time formulas for 0–6 and 6–12 months).
Which Vitlac formula is right for my baby?
It depends on your baby’s age and needs. Breast milk is the best food for babies; if a formula is needed, please decide together with your doctor, midwife or pharmacist. Our formula finder shows which formulas match each age range on our labels.
What does “palm oil free” mean?
Vitlac formulas do not contain palm oil. They use a carefully selected blend of plant-based oils — coconut, low-erucic acid rapeseed, sunflower and high-oleic sunflower oil.
What are GOS and FOS?
Galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) and fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) are prebiotic fibres. In Vitlac formulas they help support the digestive system and contribute to a balanced intestinal flora.
What is DHA?
DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is an omega-3 fatty acid. DHA contributes to normal brain and eye development in infants.
What makes Happy Nights different?
Vitlac Happy Nights formulas are developed around your baby’s bedtime and night-time feeding routine. L-tryptophan is one of their characteristic components; Happy Nights 2 is formulated with increased amounts of L-tryptophan.
Special formulas
When is Vitlac AR used?
Vitlac AR is a thickened formula for special dietary use, supporting the nutritional management of reflux and regurgitation. It should be used on the recommendation of a healthcare professional.
Is Vitlac LF suitable for cow’s milk protein allergy?
No. Vitlac LF is lactose-free, but it is made with milk proteins. It is not suitable for infants with galactosaemia or cow’s milk protein allergy. Please consult your healthcare professional.
Preparation & storage
How do I prepare a bottle?
Every product page has an interactive 8-step guide and feeding table. In short: wash your hands, sterilise the equipment, boil water and let it cool, measure the water, add level scoops with the scoop provided, shake well, check the temperature, and feed straight away. Always follow the instructions on the pack.
Can I prepare bottles in advance?
No. Prepare fresh formula for every feed and discard anything left in the bottle after feeding.
Can I use a microwave to heat formula?
No. Do not use a microwave oven to prepare or heat formula — it can heat unevenly and cause serious burns.
How should I store an opened tin?
Store the tin in a cool, dry place with the lid tightly closed, and do not refrigerate. Use the scoop provided only, and use the product within the period stated on the pack once opened.
